Well,I've seen it a second time, and I enjoyed it more than the first,I guess because I was better prepared for the tone this time.

Having seen it twice,I'm still not sure how Peter got those web cartridges.Did he order them online? It seemed pretty vague. What was Oscorp making the stuff for anyway? So ultimately,Peter designed the Web Shooters but not the web fluid?

I thought him creating the suit was pretty cool. The subway scene was IMHO,still more cheesy than his learning about his powers in the original SM.His climbing/swinging practice in that empty hanger was also somewhat underwhelming by comparison.

I don't really get the whole thing with Uncle Ben's voice message at the end. When Peter came home that night,Ben was "fit to be tied",yet we're supposed to except that an hour or so earlier he calls Peter with a lovingly glowing message.Having them argue still doesn't sit well with me,but it was a very well acted scene.

I still like Garfield, though his awkwardness in some scenes could've been reigned in somewhat.I think the skateboarding thing wasn't a bad addition, since he used it for an excuse as to why he was always bruised.(that would help maintain his secret ID.)

I would've liked to see some of the early comics style between Peter & Flash. For example, the Basketball scene. Not a bad scene,(and one used to try to sneak the "Great Power" message in) but in the comics,Peter was always being sorely tempted to reveal his powers because of Flash's goading-and he almost did sometimes- but, we don't get the sense that Peter's holding back like he did in the comics.

Some of Spidey's humor was more apparent during the Lizard battle when I saw it this time. The scene where he saves the kid in the car was very good, and probably the only time in any of the films where the unmasking didn't feel so contrived.I felt it was pretty lame that the Lizard discovers Pete's ID simply by finding his camera.

I still feel that Peter revealing his identity to Gwen was wrong, and it still felt awkward to me.They really didn't establish the two were even dating at the time. The invitation to dinner seemed like their first date.(At least that's the impression that I got) and he just decided to tell her there.

I still wasn't entirely impressed with the change in Captain Stacy's character from the comics, but I did like his helping Peter against the Lizard.I did get a sense that he had a profound effect on Peter's life.

I guess to put a cap on the review I'm gonna settle on 3.5/5 stars.

Wait till I get my violin!
