I've watched that movie for the second time tonight. Usually, when I see a movie the second time around, I like it even better than the first time. However, in this case, I actually liked it a little bit less. As some of you have said, the 2002 movie by Sam Raimi is still the definitive origin movie. This 2012 origin movie wasn't really necessary-----its only real reason for existing  that I can see, is to make money for Sony. They should've just made a straightforward sequel. No need to redo the origins-----everyone on this planet that didn't grow up in the Amazon rainforest knows that Peter Parker was bitten by an unusual spider. The Lizard, upon second viewing, isn't all that great. He doesn't look at all like in the cartoons I grew up watching----That Lizard was only the size of Dr. Connor and wasn't muscular. The face doesn't look at all alike either.

However, the romance aspect of it is well-handled. There's a certain chemistry there between the two.

This is by no means a bad movie, and it's nice that there's now a fourth Spidey movie. It was just unnecessary to redo the origin story, and for the movie to be 2 hours and 10 minutes long.
