Glad to hear your tax situation was positive, Doug. Ours this year was somewhat less so, contrary to H&R Block's initial estimate of an over $700 return.

(copied from my recent post in the Fierce Opposition To U.S. Healthcare Reform Disturbing thread)

As has become commonplace in recent years being a lowly unskilled laborer my employment lacks any benefits like paid vacation, sick days, or even holiday time off, let alone health insurance, and my wife's mental breakdown over a year ago resulted in loss of coverage when the hospital where she worked as an RN let her go. Medical bills for treatment of her breakdown began piling up so in desperation and compliance with the government mandate under threat of fines by taxation we resorted to obtaining income-based coverage through the new Healthcare Marketplace. We felt that insuring the both of us plus our 24-year-old son for just $65 per month was too good to be true, and it was; we were allocated in error too great a subsidy so they corrected their miscalculation when we recently filed for what has always been our annual tax refund by requiring us to pay $628 in federal taxes!!  smiley: mad
