I was at my in-laws for the weekend and, being that my nephew has become a big fan of TIH (not the same nephew I've mentioned in previous posts), I thought I'd bring Mystery Man for him to watch in case the weather was bad. His cousin was there as well. She's 10 yrs. old and, while she's a good kid, she is very set in her ways. If she decides she doesn't want to do something , she's pretty firm about it. Anyway, she said, " I don't want to watch this. I don't like super-hero movies. I know it's fake so why bother?" I told her this is not like a typical "super-hero" show and that she might like it. He wanted to watch it but she was trying to convince him not to. I told her she didn't need to watch it if you don't want to. Anyway, she reluctantly sat and watched it for a few minutes. By the end of part one, she was sucked in, hook, line and sinker! Funny - she seemed more captivated by David than the Hulk or Hulk-outs! After Mystery Man part 2 was over, she wanted to watch another one (she wanted to see one where he wasn't wearing a mask!) They watched The Disciple which, even though she watched all and liked it, she commented that David wasn't in it as much as she expected (very observant - it's true that Michael is the focus in that one). She also commented on the flashing Danger / anger at the beginning of each episode (I never noticed it as a kid!). She found the "two words as one word" idea to be "very clever".
Needless to say, it felt good to convert someone to TIH who was initially very skeptical about it. Conclusion: TIH rocks!!!
